Dr. Karl Pillemer is the Director of CITRA. Dr. Pillemer is also the Hazel E. Reed Professor in Cornell’s Department of Human Development and Professor of Gerontology in Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College. His research interests center on human development over the life course, with a special emphasis on family and social relationships in middle age and beyond. Dr. Pillemer has created and tested many intervention programs, particularly in long-term care and active aging.

Leslie Schultz is a Research Support Specialist for the Cornell Institute for Translational Research on Aging (CITRA) at the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research (BCTR). As part of her work, Ms. Schultz supports all aspects of CITRA’s Legacy Project. She has also been involved in the planning and development of many other CITRA intervention programs.

Marie Cope is a Research Support Specialist for the Cornell Institute for Translational Research on Aging (CITRA) and the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research (BCTR). Her background is in public health and social work, including prior work developing and implementing community programs. Ms. Cope’s work with CITRA focuses on the dissemination of innovative, evidence-based intervention programs in aging.

Dr. Rhoda Meador is the former Director of the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute. Her research focuses on building the capacity of health and social service practitioners to better serve the needs of older adults, and her research interests include workplace learning, caregiver support, and the role of partnerships in health care and social service settings. Dr. Meador’s work with CITRA includes the Partners in Care in Assisted Living (PICAL) Program.

Dr. Cary Reid is the Director of Cornell’s Translational Research Institute for Pain in Later Life (TRIPLL), and he is an Associate Professor and Director of the Office of Geriatric Research in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Reid’s research focuses on improving the management of pain among older persons and his work at TRIPLL supports translational research on pain and aging in New York City.

Dr. Catherine Riffin is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Riffin’s research focuses on understanding how families manage chronic illness, with a specific focus on enhancing family engagement in health care settings. In her current work, she is designing a system for primary care that will help health care providers to identify caregivers’ unmet needs and provide tailored support.
